In a brand new video (embedded under), widespread trade insider Jon Prosser has revealed Apple is at the moment testing a brand new foldable iPhone and he has a sign of its timeline for launch.
“In accordance with my sources, there’s a prototype clamshell folding iPhone just like the fashion of the Z Flip from Samsung,” Prosser explains. “There are shells of this system being examined in a Shenzhen Foxconn manufacturing unit. I say shells of this system as a result of it’s not the complete unit, largely they’re simply attempting to check the hinge sturdiness [at this stage].”
Prosser goes on to clarify that this clamshell iPhone would have an “precise foldable show” with Samsung offering OLED panels for the system. Apparently, Prosser states that Apple has beforehand examined a twin display system and has but to determine which type issue it’s going to prioritize.
“What I’ve been informed is that we aren’t going to get each, like Samsung has the Galaxy Z Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip, with this it’s simply going to be one or the opposite. No less than at first.”
As for the timeline, Prosser cites September 2022 however warns that the manufacturing schedule just isn’t concrete at this level.
All of which piles strain on Apple to knock the iPhone 13 out the park. Latest years have proven that iPhones leak far forward of launch (plans for the iPhone 12 Mini first appeared in June 2019) so, if Apple needs to maintain iPhone followers upgrading then the iPhone 13 that precedes it must be one thing particular.
